13 Melbourne coffee shops frequented by Australians making ideas happen

Back in May, we interviewed James Crawford, co-founder of Beanhunter an app for discovering great coffee. He told us that he thought Melbourne was extremely lucky as there are so many great coffee places but if he had to pick a favourite cafe, it would be Proud Mary in Collingwood.

We’ve been lucky enough to get numerous recommendations for great Melbourne coffee shops from the idea makers we’ve interviewed, so when James recently got in touch to let me know about the release of Beanhunter 2.0,  we thought, why not celebrate with a list of great Melbourne coffee shops frequented by Australians making ideas happen!  

The girls from  Naked Ambition  love Montague Park Food Store – they’re addicted to their roast pork roll on a brioche bun. And reckon their coffees are the best in Melbourne – no joke.

Jen Curcio founder of Decisive Cravings found this question hard, she could name at least 10 great cafe’s in Melbourne but the first one to come into her head was Batch Espresso.

Aliki Komps founder of A City With Quirk relishes supporting local cafes. When we interviewed her, she was flitting between Pomona and Fumanchu – both make a brilliant coffee and offer a welcoming and lovely atmosphere.

Jonathan Brown founder of We Matter Media, doesn’t mind waiting for the stunning food and coffee at Three Bags Full.

Nicola St John co-founder of ModPod Creative has been on a mission to find the best breakfast in Melbourne and when we interviewed her, Monsieur Truffe in Brunswick East was winning and was luckily right around the corner from her house!
